Venerable Bede was an Anglo-Saxon monk who lived at the monastery of Jarrow in England. He was a prolific writer and translater of Latin scripture and other works in to English. He wrote "The Ecclesiastical History of the English People", a valuable historical work of the Anglo-Saxon people.
