Of interest, the English language translations of the "Accursed Kings" series by the late French author Maurice Druon are being re-issued after being out of print for years. The 7th and final novel was never translated in English. Argh, indeed!
Martin, who's a fan of the series, has written a forward to the novels. He cites this series as an influence on his "Game of Thrones" novels.
So far, 3 of the "Accursed Kings" novels have been reissued with new covers. The 4th installment is slated for reissue later this year. So, if it's been awhile since you've read them or it's new to you, they are now available!

Sounds intriguing!
These books sound very intriguing Princess. It would be fun to sit down with George RR Martin and ask him about all his influences in the "Game of Thrones" series.
