Lithuania's Hill of Crosses
A short article on the famed Hill of Crosses in Lithuania on catholicexchange.com:
http://catholicexchange.com/in-the-land-of-crosses/
I first heard about the hill when the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) were in the Smithsonian Folklife Festival years ago. The featured snapshot is a small sample of how many crosses are there; I've seen larger photos of the hill. (It's huge!)
At one time Lithuania was an important power player on the European stage.
