With an upcoming fantasy TV series about Mary, Queen of Scots in the fall, here are a few books I've read and enjoyed which include her life in the French court:
Young Mary Stuart by Marian King
Biography of young Mary until her 18th birthday and return to Scotland. Originally published in 1954, the book is no longer in print. I read a copy from my high school library.

Royal Road to Fotheringhay & The Captive Queen of Scots both by Jean Plaidy
A duo about Mary's life. The 1st novel covers much of her life; the 2nd is about her years in imprisonment. Both have been reissued.
Also by Plaidy, but never read: Young Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, originally published in 1963. This book was written for younger readers and also out of print.

There's also Alison Weir's biography about her and Lord Darnley.

I'll probably won't be able to watch the show because of my work schedule. (Thurs., 9 pm on CW) When it was announced there would be a show about young Queen Mary on a historical fiction forum I belong, it didn't go over well with members.
